Frequently Asked Questions about syncing memberships to Slack

Can Join It invite new members to Slack automatically?

Yes. Join It can help automatically invite new members to Slack so they can join your community or internal member space after signup.

Expand Answer

Slack is often where communities, committees, volunteers, or member groups stay connected day to day. The integration helps reduce the manual work of adding new members to the right Slack workspace after they join. Join It manages the membership record, while Slack becomes the communication space where members can connect and participate.

Can Slack onboarding be connected to membership activity?

Yes. Slack onboarding can be connected to membership activity so new or eligible members can be invited into the right workspace or community.

Expand Answer

Membership onboarding often includes more than payment confirmation. Members may need access to communication spaces, committees, volunteer groups, or private channels. By connecting Join It and Slack, organizations can make Slack access part of the membership experience rather than another manual admin task. This helps new members feel included faster after they join.

Is Slack a good place to welcome members while Join It manages the membership database?

Yes. Slack can be used for community welcome and communication, while Join It remains the membership database and system of record.

Expand Answer

Slack is useful for conversation, collaboration, and community interaction, but it is not designed to manage dues, renewals, member status, payment history, or membership types. Join It handles those membership operations, while Slack can support the social or working community around the membership. Together, they help organizations separate member administration from member conversation.
