WordPress Membership Plugin

WordPress can remain your public-facing website for pages, content, announcements, and marketing, while Join It manages the membership operations behind the scenes. You can link visitors to your Member Portal, send them directly to membership checkout, embed purchase widgets, or allow members to log in to WordPress using their Join It credentials. Embeddable purchase widgets and WordPress login are available on the Total plan and above. This gives your organization a connected membership experience without rebuilding your entire WordPress website.

If you already explain your membership options on WordPress, you can link each membership type directly to its Join It checkout page. On the Total plan and above, you can also embed Join It’s membership purchase flow into your WordPress site using an embeddable purchase widget, so prospective members can sign up without feeling like they have left your website experience. This lets WordPress handle your public pages while Join It powers the membership signup, payment, renewal, and member-record workflow.

Each option solves a different problem. A direct Member Portal link is the simplest way to connect your WordPress site to Join It. A checkout deep link sends visitors straight to a specific membership purchase page. An embeddable purchase widget lets you place membership signup or renewal flows directly on your WordPress site. WordPress login is different: it connects member authentication, allowing members to log in to WordPress using their Join It account when your site needs a logged-in member experience. Portal links and checkout deep links are available on every plan. Embeddable purchase widgets and WordPress login are available on the Total plan and above.

This is useful when your organization wants a unified login experience between Join It and WordPress. Instead of asking members to manage separate accounts, Join It can act as the membership identity source while WordPress handles the website experience. The setup uses the OpenID Connect Generic Client plugin in WordPress and application credentials provided by Join It. Depending on your WordPress setup, you can then decide how logged-in members interact with your site.

OpenID member login is available on the Total plan and above. The setup starts by requesting an application key from Join It — available via chat or by emailing support@joinit.com. Then, inside WordPress, you install and configure the OpenID Connect Generic Client plugin using the client ID, client secret, scope, login endpoint, user info endpoint, token endpoint, and other settings provided in the Join It documentation. Once configured, members can use their Join It credentials as part of the WordPress login flow. This is the most technical WordPress integration option, so it is best for organizations that need member login on the WordPress side rather than just checkout links or embedded purchase widgets.

Many organizations like WordPress for publishing, design flexibility, blogging, and website management. But membership operations are often better handled in a dedicated system that tracks member status, dues, renewal dates, payment history, custom fields, and activity. Join It lets you keep WordPress focused on content and marketing while your membership team manages member records in Join It. This keeps your website and membership database connected without making one system do every job.

A full WordPress membership plugin can be useful when your primary need is protecting WordPress pages, posts, or courses. Join It is different: it is a hosted membership management platform for member records, dues, renewals, payments, and member engagement. You can still connect Join It to WordPress through links, purchase widgets, and login options, but your core membership database does not depend on WordPress hosting, theme compatibility, plugin conflicts, or site maintenance.
